Beginnings

So every year I make the same resolution to start a blog. And on the first of January, every year, I follow through and start one. For whatever reason by February I've either forgotten about it or moved on to the next big thing.

In efforts to record every facet of what I believe is going to be a wonderful and crazy year, I've started yet another blog. But one that I hope to keep up with this time. Evidently, I still have a thing or two to learn about self-discipline.

Anyway, the year has gotten off to a great start already. This was the first time since 2006 that my mom and I spent the holidays with family, which was both absolutely wonderful and slightly maddening at times (think big Italian family crammed into a tiny one-bedroom San Francisco apartment for two weeks). Here's some of the shenanigans we got into on New Year's Eve. Note that me, Fabio, and my uncle are all coincidentally wearing the same striped shirt.

My mom flew back to Raleigh tonight and since my family appreciates a proper send-off, we had a little barbecue shortly followed by snore-filled naps. Happy new year indeed.
