Orgulho, paixão, saudades, e homenagem

I called my grandma on December 31st to wish her a happy new year and since then a lot of things clicked in my head for the start of this new year. I made the most important resolutions of my lifethings that I should have done and changed years ago. I don't know what took so long, but I can only be thankful that I'm there now. It's only five days into 2012, but I can already say that I feel like a better person. I'll share more about my resolutions here sometime, I'm sure.

Today is a beautiful sunny day here in San Francisco. I've spent it cleaning, singing, and dancing with my aunt. A trip down memory lane ensued.

These two songs are an homage to my hometown, Porto Alegre. A place that I love dearly, and although far, will always be in my heart.

These songs are the most beautiful and important reminders of values and priorities that I can think of. They keep me grounded and remind me of what's most important in life. Only a select few people will understand what I mean, but I'm leaving them here to serve as a reminder to myself that when times get a little rough and I momentarily lose sight of the shore, these songs will guide me home. Sappy, but necessary.

(Quando eu ando assim meio down, vou pra Porto e bah, tri legal.)
